The cardiovascular surgery ward of Shams Hospital is the first fully equipped and most active private center in the northwest of Iran which was put into operation in February 2002 in collaboration with experienced and prominent professors and well trained staff. Until now, numerous open heart surgeries including coronary artery bypass surgery, combined valve and bypass surgery, valve replacement and repair with atrial fibrillation ablation, cardiac tumors, congenital heart diseases such as ASD, PDA VSD, AS, coarctation of the aorta and tetralogy, etc. have been performed on this ward.
