The echocardiography ward of Shams Hospital is a subspecialized ward which has started its operation with the attendance of Dr. Dina Ashouri (cardiologist) holder of fellowship certificate in echocardiography.

This ward is equipped with up-to-date devices and systems used for examining and monitoring patients’ cardiovascular problems and disorders. This ward offers services for both inpatients and outpatients every day. Echocardiography services are offered to all patients including those suffering from valve problems, vascular diseases, simple and complicated problems, andischemic heart disease. Also, other services such as monitoring patients before and after open heart surgery and angiography of these patients before and after surgery are performed on this ward.

1-      Stress echocardiography

2-      Transthoracic echocardiogram, 2D and 3D

3-      Transesophageal echocardiography (and esophageal)

4-      Tissue Doppler Echocardiography or Tissue Doppler Imaging (TDI)

5-      Echocardiography in congenital disorders

6-      Echocardiography with contrast agent

7-      Cardiac stress test
